While visiting his friend Billy in the rehabilitation center of a local psychiatric hospital, the arts student Danny Sloan decides to visit the serial killer Byron Volpe. Byron, a deranged hypnotizer, used his ability to control his victims. He was arrested, wearing a hood to cover his eyes, and is now in a cell in the end of the corridor. When he passes by the room of Laura Baxter, he becomes fascinated with her angelical beauty and discovers that she has Parasomnia (the Sleeping Beauty syndrome), sleeping most of the time and awaking briefly on a few moments only. Billy visits the girl in other occasions falling in love with her; when he finds that she will be transferred to serve as experiment in a clinic with bad reputation, he decides to abduct Laura and bring her to his apartment. However, Byron also loves Laura and controls her nightmares, and uses his power to bring her back to him in a trail of blood.

Chuyện phim sẽ bắt đầu từ cuộc chuyện trò của một nhóm thanh niên thất nghiệp, sống vất vả từng ngày. Quá buồn chán với cuộc sống hiện tại, họ quyết định họp lại và tìm cách làm giàu. Một người đàn ông có bộ dạng bí ẩn ngồi gần đó và nghe được câu chuyện của mấy anh chàng đã dúi vào tay họ một tấm bản đồ tìm kho báu. Tuy nhiên, tấm bản đồ đó chỉ là một loạt các câu đố khó nhằn. Cách duy nhất để họ tìm được kho báu và có một cuộc sống giàu sang hơn chính là giải được bài toán khó này.

The iron triangle sẽ được chia làm ba phần và mỗi đạo diễn sẽ chịu trách nhiệm viết kịch bản và “nhào nặn” một phần (có độ đài khoảng 30 phút). Bên cạnh đó, lời thoại của phim sẽ không được chuẩn bị trước. Được biết, phần đầu của The iron triangle sẽ do đạo diễn Tsui Hark thực hiện, tiếp đến đạo diễn Ringo sẽ chịu trách nhiệm phát triển tiết tấu phim và phần kết sẽ do đạo diễn Tsui Hark đảm nhiệm.

Được biết, The Iron triangle sẽ được quay tại Hong Kong từ cuối tháng 7 với dàn diễn viên nổi tiếng của màn ảnh Hoa ngữ như nam diễn viên Cổ Thiên Lạc (Hong Kong), nữ diễn viên trẻ Lâm Hy Lôi (Đài Loan) và nam diễn viên Sun Honglei của Trung Quốc.
